About me

As your Trainer I'm committed to creating a supportive, and encouraging environment. If you are constantly feeling overwhelmed by all the options and underwhelmed by your ability to stick to them, I’m here to help. I believe better health doesn’t need to be complicated and it can be ENJOYABLE. My approach to fitness is grounded in simplicity, sustainability, and effectiveness. I create individual programming that is purposeful and strategic, while also tending to clients’ needs as humans with full lives.
Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or stepping into fitness for the first time, this is where your aspiration meets expertise, and where your progress is celebrated as a collective victory. I am commnitted to helping you build your strongest BODY and MIND so you can create your stongest LIFE.

Education and Biography

Education

  • Graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Health and Sports Studies.
  • Completed specialized courses in nutrition, peak performance, exercise testing and community health education.

Professional experience

As an established professional with 16 years of experience in the field of exercise and wellness, I have a proven track record of success implementing health/fitness/wellness programs at both Collins Aerospace Recreation Center and the City of Cedar Rapids (though Health Solutions LLC). Simultaneously, I worked one-on-one with clients personal training and health coaching hundreds of people to make meaningful life changes to better their health.

I addition to that I have experience working one-on-one with participants and leadership, at various stages of change (and acceptance of the program). I excel at creating rapport through building trust and maintaining open communication. 
During my management role at Collins Rec Center, I led roughly 60 Instructors and promoted an environment of inclusion, coninuing education and always showing up with a positive attitude. I also gained insight to programming for various populations and fitness levels by offering 100+ classes per week for the membership population.
